
The province of San Juan in Argentina has a wide variety of mining districts, including El Durazno, Huachi, Huemules, La Abundancia, La Pantera, La Enterrada, La Pesena, La Petrona, Las Aguaditas, Las Tolas, Las Vacas, Pirrotina, Pucara, Quebrada Varela, Quebrada Perdida, Santa Filomena, Santa Teresita, Virgen de Lourdes, Yanso, among others.
In the districts of Valle Fértil and Caucete, seven (7) main mining districts concentrate a total of forty-seven (47) projects. Thirty (30) of these projects correspond to metallic deposits, while seventeen (17) are related to the type of Quartz-Feldspar-Mica pegmatites, with potential content of Beryl and Spodumene, which is a lithium ore mineral. Projects such as Albiòn, Allunta, Buena Fortuna, Divisoria, El Morado, Martha I and II, Ivette, among others, stand out in this region.
The Province of San Juan has recorded record marks in meters drilled by exploratory companies, which strengthens its mining future. The provincial government, under the leadership of Dr. Marcelo Orrego, considers mining activity as a State Policy with medium and long-term projection. Exploration is highlighted as an essential requirement to promote full employment and the generation of genuine wealth in the region.
The Jáchal department hosts seven (7) mining districts with thirty-one (31) projects under development. San Juan is positioned as a center of interest for international mining investment due to its geological offering. The province is a pioneer in gold and silver mining and focuses on projects such as Mina Veladero, Gualcamayo, Casposo, Josemaría, and Los Azules, strongly positioning itself in the national context.
Mining activity requires continuity and prospecting to discover areas rich in minerals and foster new ventures. For example, in the Iglesia department, there are 70 projects at different stages of development, with the presence of gold, silver, copper, and molybdenum, distributed over 14 mining districts.
In Calingasta, there are ten (10) main mining districts. In terms of resources, the Iglesia department accounts for 28.16 million ounces of gold, 524.22 million ounces of silver, and 13.52 trillion pounds of copper in a total of 2410 million tons of known mineralization to date.
